Ms. Molly Roscoe
Theology
mroscoe@bk.org
Molly Roscoe spent many years in service before coming to Bishop Kelly. She worked with Maryknoll in Mexico and has worked with the Jesuit Volunteers: International as a teacher in Belize. She has also worked with refugees as a community member of “Casa de la Paz” a Catholic Worker house in New York and she has been a community outreach mentor at “Mother Jones House” in Wheeling, West Virginia.
These varied service opportunities enrich Ms. Roscoe’s teaching at Bishop Kelly High School where she has taught Theology since 2005. Molly believes it is a “privilege to journey with students on their spiritual paths – with all of its affirmations and mysteries.” She believes that she provides educational and spiritual road maps of the Catholic faith, but the journey is ultimately that of each student and their dialogue with God. According to Ms. Roscoe, trusting that process is an act of faith for teacher and student alike.
Ms. Roscoe attended the University of Portland and received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology as well as minors in Music and Spanish. She shares her musical talent at all Bishop Kelly liturgies as part of the pastoral arts/music group. Later Molly attended Wheeling Jesuit University where she earned a Master’s degree in Applied Theology.
Gardening, backpacking, hiking, playing music, and traveling are among Ms. Roscoe’s hobbies. Perhaps most surprising though is that she was a state champion in synchronized swimming.
