Dr. Frances Wickham
Theology
fwickham@bk.org
A rich background in comparative religions and theology provides Dr. Frances Wickham with the skills necessary to answer students’ numerous questions about religious issues and theology in the classroom. Every day she brings enthusiasm and humor to BK in hopes of sparking interest in her students. When referring to her teaching philosophy, she cites Michelangelo by stating, “Still I am learning.” Fran wants her students to have that same life-long desire to learn.
Dr. Wickham earned her Bachelor and Master of Arts in Theology and Religious Studies from the University of San Francisco. At the Pacific School of Religion she earned her Doctor of Ministry. Dr. Wickham is also a member in the Jesuit honor society, Alpha Sigma Nu.
Fran is a committed volunteer within the community. As advisor for BK’s Key Club chapter, she helps students develop leadership and service skills while at the same time, serving the community. From her efforts as advisor, she earned the 2007-2008 Utah-Idaho district Outstanding Advisor Award. She is active in her parish of St. Mary’s, and also serves as a lector. Fran and her husband are also supporting their third Kenyan child through the Christian Children’s Fund.
Outside of school Dr. Wickham spends her spare time “praying for the Cubs”, watching her favorite Star Trek episodes, doing tai-chi, and following sports teams—most notably Notre Dame, North Carolina, and of course, Bishop Kelly.
