Mrs. Braden began teaching at Bishop Kelly in 1981. She says she loves teaching high school students, and she must as she has been at it now for 28 years!
Mrs. Braden earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Education from Brigham Young University and was selected the Outstanding Business Student from her class. She also has a Reading Certificate and Technology Certificate from Boise State University. Further, Deana continues to take classes in order to keep current with the ever-changing technology. She has attended the Albertson Foundation’s “Teaching with Technology” classes, Boise State’s “Train the Trainer” program, and ongoing Microsoft Training Courses. Mrs. Braden and her classes were chosen to participate in the National GenY Program for technology.
As a technology teacher, Mrs. Braden feels that she is sometimes the "chief learner" and loves how students and teachers learn from one another. Deana knows that teaching technology is important as it equips students with essential life skills. She believes that her students will see incredible things happen in the field of technology in their lifetime and wants them to leave her classroom feeling confident and prepared for their future.
Mrs. Braden is an active volunteer in her community. She works with the youth of her church, participates in several humanitarian projects, and is a member of the Boise chapter of MADD. Spending time with her four children and three grandchildren is among her favorite things to do along with reading, scrapbooking, and card making. She also loves traveling and camping. Mrs. Braden sings, plays the piano and the organ.
