 | Mrs. Chris Haskell Band chaskell@bk.org Enthusiasm, creativity and lots of energy are what Chris
Haskell generates as Bishop Kelly’s band director. Since
taking the reins in 2007, band membership has increased
every year. Why? Students are having fun.
Mr. Haskell earned a bachelor’s degree in Music
Education from Boise State University. Later he earned a
Masters in Educational Technology and is currently pursuing his doctorate also in
Educational Technology. Before coming to Boise, Mr. Haskell taught in Reno, Nevada,
where he successfully built the band to over 200 members and won numerous awards
and competitions.
Mr. Haskell wants his students to love playing music. He also wants students to realize
that the band is an integral part of a school community and that their classmates love and
appreciate what they do. Mr. Haskell is proud of his students and enjoys playing music with
them. He predicts that band will continue to grow, present innovative performances, and
provide great entertainment to the Bishop Kelly community.
In addition to his duties at Bishop Kelly, Chris works as a special lecturer in the Department
of Educational Technology at Boise State University. He specializes in instructing pre-service
teachers in methods and applications of technology integration in the classroom. Away from
work, Chris is an avid cyclist, bike racer and triathlete. |
