 | Mrs. Deb King Librarian / Physical Education dking@bk.org Deborah King brings rich and varied experience to the
librarian position. In Gooding, Idaho, she taught History,
Pre-Algebra, Music, Health and Special Needs at the
Idaho School for the Deaf and Blind. She also taught for
twenty years in the Pocatello School District. While there
Mrs. King taught American Sign Language, History and
special courses for deaf students and learning disabled students.
She loves American Sign Language and how it allows individuals to engage a completely new
area of the brain to process language.
In addition to her teaching experience, Deborah has also coached volleyball for the past twenty
years. She has coached at Idaho State University as an assistant, at the School of the Deaf as
a head coach and in the Pocatello School District as head coach for Century High School and
Highland High School. Deb has also coached USA Junior Olympic Volleyball for many years
with many of her athletes obtaining scholarships. Mrs. King has also coached tennis and taught
swimming lessons for many years.
At Bishop Kelly, Deborah King is the librarian and a physical education teacher. She says
that as a librarian, she has the opportunity to be of service to students who are striving to learn.
In addition to librarian duties, Deb is also the head volleyball coach at Bishop Kelly. She says
that she loves coaching and finds it very satisfying. She loves to be involved with hard-working,
talented and motivated athletes and help them work towards their goals.
Away from school Deb enjoys volleyball, tennis, hiking, skiing and swimming. Most would be
surprised to learn that as a child Deborah traveled with her sisters and performed as a singing
group in Europe and around the Northwest. |
