The non-profit Bishop Kelly Foundation was created more than 20 years ago to support the values and objectives of Bishop Kelly High School. The Foundation's principal goal has been to provide funding — for scholarships, operations, and capital improvements — that will keep Bishop Kelly's standards and quality at the highest level.
This past year, the Foundation provided more than $300,000 to support the school. These funds were derived from the proceeds of the Foundation's annual fundraiser, the Winner's Choice dinner and auction, and from income received from the endowment fund, which currently stands at more than $3,000.000.
The sole beneficiary of the Bishop Kelly Foundation is Bishop Kelly High School. By contributing to the Bishop Kelly Foundation, you are directly benefiting the school.
The Needs of Bishop Kelly High School
Like any fast growing institution that is committed to maintaining the highest standards, Bishop Kelly High School has many needs both short and long term:
• Additional scholarship funds for students in need
• Continuing investment in technology — computers, servers, etc.,
• Additional classroom space to handle enrollment growth,
• Capital expansion and improvements, i.e. a performing arts center, and
• Lighting for athletic fields.
Over the past several years, with the assistance of the Bishop Kelly Foundation and in close cooperation with the Bishop Kelly Board of Directors, eight new classrooms were completed, a new computer lab was created, the cafeteria was expanded, critical re-roofing work was done, and major technology upgrades were accomplished. With a generous gift from long time supporters, John and Joan Carley, and with the help of the Joe and Kathryn Albertson Foundation, a new gymnasium, the Carley Center, became a welcome addition to the campus.
There is more work to be done, and the Bishop Kelly Foundation stands ready to assist the school with its growing needs. Please consider being a part of Bishop Kelly's future by contributing to the Bishop Kelly Foundation with donations of cash, securities or real property or through endowed scholarships, gifting appreciated assets or other estate planning methods.
Contact Julie Lliteras, Executive Director, at (208) 323-4789 for more information on how you can make a lasting contribution to Bishop Kelly.
