The Bishop Kelly Foundation strongly supports the goal of diversity in the Bishop Kelly student body, and the ideal of making a Catholic high school education available to all students, regardless of ability to pay. To that end, the Foundation manages funds for the following scholarships and endowments.

The recipients are chosen based on financial need, and application is made through the school's normal financial aid process (applicants do not need to apply for any specific scholarship in this process).

Donating to the Scholarship Fund:  If you would like to donate to the Foundation scholarships, you may make a gift to the Angel Fund, which is a general scholarship fund, or you may choose to contribute to any other existing named scholarships listed below .

The Father Dodgson Scholarship

The Father Dodgson Scholarship Fund was established to provide tuition assistance to students who would otherwise be unable to attend Bishop Kelly High School. Thanks to the generous donation of William and Frances Lynch and Carl and Donetta Reynolds, along with alumni and friends of Bishop Kelly, the fund has continued to grow each year.

The Father Wilson Scholarship
On the occasion of his Golden Jubilee in June of 2004, the Bishop Kelly Foundation established the Father James R. Wilson Scholarship in his honor. Father Wilson started the Bishop Kelly Foundation in 1975, when he was principal of the high school. Alumni, friends, students, parents and staff contributed, and continue to give, to this scholarship which will be used to provide financial assistance to those in need.

The John & Ruby Basabe Scholarship
Originally established by Ruby Basabe in memory of her husband, John, this scholarship is now funded by the Basabe children to honor both their mother and father who were firm believers in education.

The Merle W. LaMott and Doretta LaMott Family Scholarship
The LaMott family has funded this scholarship in loving memory of their son and father, Merle, and their mother, Doretta, both who were long-time supporters of Bishop Kelly High School. Their five sons were all graduates of Bishop Kelly High School, and they continue to fund this scholarship through their annual gifts.

The Robin W. Raymond Scholarship
In 2004, Evelyn Butalla established a scholarship in memory of her son Robin Raymond. Robin attended Bishop Kelly High School and his mother wanted other students to be able to have the same opportunity for a Catholic education.

The Angel Scholarship Fund
This scholarship provides financial aid to students who are in need of assistance to attend Bishop Kelly High School.  It is made possible by the many donors of gifts to the general scholarship fund.

Friends of Bishop Kelly Track & Field
This endowment was funded by a grant from an anonymous donor to benefit current and future track and field teams at Bishop Kelly High School. The income from the endowment is used each year to help with expenses not covered in the athletic budget.

Friends of Bishop Kelly Cross Country
Established in 2004 with a grant from an anonymous donor, this endowment will benefit current and future cross country teams at Bishop Kelly High School. . The income from the endowment is used each year to help with expenses not covered in the athletic budget.

The Hank McDonald Scholarship.  This scholarship was endowed in 2011 by Hank McDonald, a Bishop Kelly graduate that year.  Hank was accepted into the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.  It was his wish to immediately give back to Bishop Kelly by establishing a scholarship fund.  The first distribution from this scholarship will be awarded in school year 2012-2013.

The Fran Wickham Memorial Scholarship
.

Dr. Fran Wickham, beloved friend and long-time theology instructor at Bishop Kelly, passed away in January of 2011.  She was a strong proponent of the school, and she herself was the recipient of a scholarship to attend Catholic high school.  She and her husband, Jim, had two children who attended Bishop Kelly.  Those who loved Fran have asked that this scholarship be established.  To that end, all gifts received by Bishop Kelly in her memory will be applied to this fund to endow a scholarship that will provide faith-blind, need-based assistance to students who wish to attend.  The family will be notified of any gifts received.
