What an exciting State Swim Meet and Water Polo Tournament!
This was the 20th Anniversary of High School Swimming. There were 45 teams that attended the State Swim Meet with schools from 5A down to 1A. The girls placed 13th, and the boys 5th! If you split us out into 4A, the girls were 6th and the boys were 2nd. Congratulations swimmers! Qualifying for the State Meet is an accomplishment. Thank you James Marria and Rachel Albertson, our Swim Team Captains, for your leadership this season!
The Water Polo Team won the State Team Title again! The sportsmanship and team spirit was outstanding! They won their 3 games with huge margins of victory. After securing the State Title, they played valiantly in an exhibition game, but lost against a combined team of Timberline and Capital with a score of 9-11. This combined team had 2 foreign exchange students from Italy who were highly skilled in water polo. It made for an exciting game with cheering not only for BK, but for the USA. The best part of the tournament was seeing all 25 members of the BK Water Polo Team working together as a team. There is no other high school in Idaho with a team this size.
Will Jones is the coach of the BK Water Polo Team. James Marria is the Captain, and Cary Richelieu is the Co-Captain. Thank you Mr. Skinner, our club advisor, for attending the Tournament. We would also like to thank all of the people who attended the State Swim Meet and Water Polo Tournament. We appreciate your support! Way to go Knights!
