2011 Winner's Choice Program
Thanks to everyone who attended, donated, volunteered or in other ways supported the Winner's Choice Dinner and Auction, recently held at the Boise Centre on November 5.
The Bishop Kelly Foundation sold a record number of tickets, and the large crowd added to the fun and excitement of the evening.
The highlight of the evening is the car raffle, and lucky ticket holders Tom and Mary Schmidt won a 2012 automobile from Meridian Ford. The suspense mounted as each ticket number was drawn and eliminated from contention until only one winner remained. There was also a raffle for $5,000 of tuition at any educational institution, and that was won by the Harrison family.
Silent auction items ranged from beautifully decorated baskets and hand-made items to art work, furniture, sports equipment, electronics and more. The live auction featured items such as vacation packages, trips to sporting events such as a Notre Dame/USC game, Super Bowl XLVI, San Francisco Giants game, the USGA US Open, gourmet dinners, and more.
Auctioneer Larry Flynn also raised almost $57,000 for tuition assistance, which will help more students attend Bishop Kelly.
Thanks, also, to those who visited our separate online auction, which just closed on November 13. We are happy to report that we exceeded our goal there as well.
As we complete our tally of results, we will report them here. In the meantime, we wish to again thanks all those who made this evening and its success possible.
