At the core of Mr. Vreeland’s teaching philosophy is using the subject material to create an environment that encourages thought, understanding, respect, and engaged students. Teaching students the ability to listen and understand multiple viewpoints and establish their own coherent opinions. Mr. Vreeland strongly believes students should be engaged civically and seek knowledge about the world around them.

Mr. Vreeland grew up in Moscow, Idaho graduating from MHS in 2000. After graduating he played 2 years of college soccer at North Idaho College before attending the University of Idaho. Prior to joining the faculty at Bishop Kelly, Mr. Vreeland spent 10 years working as a professional soccer coach serving as a Director of Coaching for clubs in the State of Idaho. Mr. Vreeland currently coaches the BK Varsity boys soccer team while also coaching teams for the Boise Nationals Timbers, Idaho Youth Soccer Association, and USYS Region IV ODP teams. Outside of the classroom or the soccer pitch you can most likely find Mr. Vreeland somewhere on a river with a fly rod in hand.

I love teaching at BK because of the sense of community. Students, Faculty, and Staff work hard to support each other in their endeavors. At the same time we are all challenged to be better while being provided a network and resources to do succeed.

“Let us run with patience, the race that is set before us.” Hebrews 12:1
