Since July, 2010, Rich has served as president of Bishop Kelly High School. He is responsible for all aspects of the school – mission, vision, strategy, culture, academic, spiritual, financial, enrollment, advancement and facilities.
Rich is passionate about Catholic education and ensuring a Bishop Kelly education is available to all who wish to come, regardless of financial means. The vision for Bishop Kelly – a Catholic community achieving excellence in learning, service and life – inspires him to work together with all key stakeholders (students, faculty/staff, parents, alumni and our community) to make this vision come alive.
Rich was born and raised in Sacramento, California. He graduated from Stanford University in 1974 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History; and in 1979, he earned an MBA in Finance at the University of Oregon.
He was hired by Hewlett-Packard in Boise, Idaho, as a Financial Analyst in 1979. Over a nearly 30-year career, he held several positions in Finance, Marketing and General Management in Boise, the Bay Area and Barcelona, Spain. He retired in November 2008 after 16 years as a Vice President/Senior Vice President in several businesses inside HP, most recently as the VP/GM of the North America Graphic Arts Business.
He currently serves on the boards of St. Luke’s Health System, Treasure Valley YMCA, Trey McIntyre Project, Treasure Valley Education Partnership (TVEP – Chair) and the Idaho Technology Council.
Rich and his wife of 39 years, Georgiann, have three children, all of whom are Bishop Kelly and Santa Clara University graduates – Matthew, 33, who lives in New York City; Megan, 31, lives with her husband, Adam, in Madison, WI.; and Emily, 25, who lives in San Francisco.
