Madame Ysursa began teaching French at Bishop Kelly in 2013. Previously she taught at St. Bernard High (6 years) and Ayala High (21 years) in Southern California. She has a BA in French and Psychology from Loyola Marymount University. She further obtained a minor in Spanish from Cal State Fullerton. Madame Ysursa also studied Basque in the Basque country intensively for 1 1/2 years.

Madame Ysursa’s hunband in a 1980 graduate of Bishop Kelly and their 2 sons will be 2017 graduates. Mme Ysursa’s parents are immegrants from the south of France in the Basque Country. She enjoys dancing, singing, cooking, speaking foreign languages, and traveling (especially to France with students and their families.

Teaching at Bishop Kelly is wonderful because the students want to be here. It’s a wonderful teaching and learning environment. As a Catholic school, we address mind, body, and spirit which is a necessary, holistic approach. Also, in no other school that I’ve been in do the students thank their teachers after class like they do here at BK. It’s truly a special place and I wish all students had the opportunity to learn in a school like BK.
