Mrs. Jan Siron
“Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path” (Psalm 119:105) is my focus in my Theology classes. I have a passion for scripture and a love for young people in my classroom. I believe that the “chapel” is the center of the school and the “gift” of daily Liturgy of the Eucharist sustains me. With the Lord’s guidance and the Blessed Mother as my advocate, I carry on my duties as a Bishop Kelly theology teacher.
I started at Bishop Kelly in 1995 as the service learning coordinator. I have been teaching for 10 years. In 2007 I became campus minister and taught Freshman scripture. In 2012 I taught World History. I have a Bachelor of Science in Social Studies. I have a Advanced Certificate of Catechesis.
I have been married for 43 years. I have 6 children and 12 grandchildren. I am an avid ‘organic’ gardener and I participate in church ministry including muscian, lector and extraordinary minister.
In my position I get to teach and share the Catholic faith with youth. I love scripture and sharing faith stories. This is my vocation and I am blessed to be in a place where I have the freedom to do just that.
The LORD is my shepherd; there is nothing I lack.
In green pastures he makes me lie down; to still waters he leads me;
He restores my soul. He guides me along right paths for the sake of his name.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff comfort me.
You set a table before me in front of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Indeed, goodness and mercy will pursue me all the days of my life;
I will dwell in the house of the LORD for endless days.
