Mrs. Cooper graduated from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music.  She has been teaching music for the past 20 years, at BK since 2006.  She started the orchestra program at Bishop Kelly High School, and it has doubled in size every year.  In addition to the Orchestra, she directs the Choir, teaches Music Theory and a Pastoral Musician class which encompasses music and theology.

Her career as a musician started at age 4 when she received her first cello; and at age 7, the piano.  At 15, Mrs. Cooper was a soloist with the Oregon Symphony.  At 19, she played with artists such as Dave Bruebeck, Captain  & Tenille, Rosemary Clooney, Bill Conti and Roger Williams.  She has been a cellist with the Boise Philharmonic since 2004.

Mrs. Cooper is dedicated to building the music program at Bishop Kelly High School.  Her students have participated in the Heritage Festival, Solo & Ensemble, District III, All State & All Northwest Honor Orchestras and Choir and the BSU Jazz Festival.
