Academic Survival Skills, 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
This one week course will help students with basic academic skills needed for basic survival at Bishop Kelly. The content of the course will cover skills such as note taking, organization strategies and tools, reading and annotation, study skills and memorization techniques, and test taking strategies.
Artistic Creations - Ceramics, 9:00 a.m. - Noon
This Artistic Creations Camp will focus on 3D sculpting with clay. Students will receive a wonderful introduction to several sculpting techniques. This camp will run from Monday through Thursday for three hours each day and will be taught by BK Art Faculty.
Evangelization and Leadership, 9:00 a.m. - Noon
This camp will be for students who love their faith and want to continue to grow in it by taking what they learn academically and putting it into action with their peers and in the community around them. There will be daily prayer, short lessons, fun activities, and fellowship. Students will be able to take the skills they learn and apply them in their lives at school, on sports teams, and in the classroom. This course will be taught by BK Theology Faculty
Math Foundations LaunchPad, 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
This one week course will help students fill in mathematical gaps and misunderstandings to help them prepare for and be successful in Algebra 1. Critical skills like Expressions and Combining Like Terms, Expressions vs. Equations, Combining Like Terms in Equations, and Cross multiplying vs. Multiplying Fractions vs. Dividing Fractions will be covered. This course will be taught by BK Math Faculty.
Writing LaunchPad, 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
This one week course will help students with basic writing principles and skills that will help them prepare to be successful writers at Bishop Kelly. The content of the course will cover the generally accepted writing structure of claim, evidence and commentary, which is used in all content areas at Bishop Kelly, and in AP classes. Students will work on generating, organizing and editing their writing. This course will be taught by BK English Faculty.
