Academies

The purpose of the Bishop Kelly Academy program is to strengthen intellectual engagement, provide an in-depth experience for students to pursue areas of interest and passions, provide a headstart into possible career paths, and to give those students who choose an Academy program an enhanced and rigorous learning experience. The Academy Program has a competitive selection process to ensure students have the dedication, academic motivation, skills, and determination necessary to fulfill the academy requirements.

Bishop Kelly Academy Requirements will consist of:

• Core coursework required for graduation
• Relevant elective courses around themes of the Academy
• Advanced college level courses
• In most cases two years of the AP Capstone Program

Successful completion of academy requirements will be noted on the graduates transcript and the graduate will receive a special recognition at graduation. Participation, experience, and completion of academy requirements will also provide unique experiences that could help our students set themselves up for being competitive in the college application process.
