Bishop Kelly’s dress code is intended to encourage modesty, cleanliness, neatness, and pride in one’s appearance and school community. It is our belief that students should respect each other for who they are, not for what they wear.
Mass Dress Code
Days of All School Liturgies and other special occasions are designated dress-up days. These are school days where a more formal appearance is expected of students out of respect for the special purpose of the day. Sweatshirts are not to be worn. All students must stay in Mass Dress for the entire school day.
- Oxford (button down), collared shirt (long or short sleeved) with the BK Crest; shirts must be tucked in.
- Dress Slacks or Khaki/Dockers-style pants (No denim) black or khaki colored only.
- Sweater vest, cardigan, or blazer with the BK Crest may be worn over the oxford
- A white oxford (button down) collared shirt (long or short sleeved) with the BK Crest. Shirts must be tucked in.
- Dress Slacks or Khaki pants (No denim.) black or khaki colored only, OR
- Maxi /Midi (past the knee) skirt, black or khaki colored only.

Over the next few weeks I will be contacting many of you to request either new, or updated information regarding health care concerns and individual plans for students with medical conditions which may affect them at school. This includes food or insect allergies, diabetes, etc. It is important that I have this information, as we strive to provide the safest environment possible for your student.
In addition, if your student will be taking medication at school, please fill out this Authorization for Medication Administration and return it to school.

—Students who become ill or injured during the school day must go to the Nurse’s Office. If it is during class time, the student must inform the teacher and request a pass to see the School Nurse. The nurse will determine whether the student must go home due to illness. If it is decided that the student should go home, the nurse will contact the parent/guardian. It will be established at that time how the student will be transported home. Students are not to contact parents/guardians via phone call or text before they have seen the nurse. If the student will be going home, they will get their belongings and then the student must go to the Attendance Office to sign out.
Your student will have seven classes each semester, and each class may have specific expectations for supplies needed. Other than a laptop computer and basic supplies, such as three ring binders, loose leaf paper, pens, and pencils, it is suggested that you wait until after your child receives the course syllabus during the first week of school to purchase more specific school supplies. Academic Information for Fall 2021
Bishop Kelly High School is a 1:1 technology school, meaning each student at Bishop Kelly has their own personal electronic device. There are many options to choose from, however, there are certain minimum requirements that will allow enrollment in all classes and the best possible education experience. Please read this list of technology requirements before your purchase a device for your student.
Financial assistance is available to assist families who need help purchasing a device for their student. Please fill out this Electronic Device Assistance Application and return it to the Bishop Kelly Business Office.

For the remainder of the summer, please send all counseling related questions and/or requests through the following form: Summer 2021 Counseling Support and Questions. We will do our best to monitor and triage requests as they come in, but you should not expect a lot of action to be taken on requests until our counseling team is back in the office the first week or two of August.
Bishop Kelly uses a web based classroom management system that parents and students can access to check schedules and grades called Infinite Campus.
RETURNING STUDENTS – you can sign in to Infinite Campus here, with your BK Google Account. Schedules will be posted the week of August 9th.
NEW STUDENTS – you will receive access to Infinite Campus at New Student Academy in August.
PARENTS – BK Parents will receive an access letter to Infinite Campus in August.
If you are new to BK or have a new computer, you must follow the instructions below to get your computer ready to access the BK Network. Please be sure your student performs this task before they get to BK with a new device. All steps can be completed at home at the website http://faculty.bk.org They are different based on what type of device your student has.

Summer base training will run from 8:00 – 10:00am, Monday through Thursday, beginning Monday, June 14th at Bishop Kelly weight room. The schedule for practice sites will be posted on the Cross Country Team page at www.bk.org and Coach Shanahan will send them via email to parents, as well. The official first day of practice is Monday August 9th at 9am on the BK track. We will have a parent/athlete dinner meeting prior to Jimmy Driscoll Invitational on Friday August 27th at 6pm in the cafeteria. The first home meet will be the Jimmy Driscoll Meet on Saturday, August 28th, 2021 . Cross Country Camp at Pilgrim Cove in McCall will be on August 13th – 15th . Swimmers are encouraged to join a Summer Rec Team in order to get in shape ahead of evaluations for our season, if you are not currently engaged in the sport. Tryouts will be held at Fairmont Pool beginning August 9th. Swimmers MUST attend tryouts to be considered for the swim team. We have a JV and Varsity team for both boys and girls. Swimmers must attend 10 school practices prior to our first meet on August 24th. Please visit our team’s website to sign up and for additional information regarding our team retreat and season calendars/expectations. Practices will be at Fairmont Pool from 5-7:30pm. Summer training will start on June 28th and will run every Monday and Wednesday from 6:30-8:00pm and every Friday from 9:00-10:00am through July 30th. This will be an open play format mixed with some technical and fitness aspects. The Friday session will focus primarily on technical training and speed of play. Attendance is encouraged but not mandatory. Players unable to attend should invest personal time running and training in preparation for tryouts.
July 24th and July 30th will be scrimmages with Timberline HS. July 24th will be at Timberline in the morning and July 30th will be at BK in the evening (exact times TBD). Tryouts will start Monday, August 9th from 5:30-7:30pm. The final rosters will be announced the evening of Wednesday, August 11th. Team practices begin Thursday, August 12th. Summer training is scheduled to begin on June 22nd, 7 – 8:30pm @ BK and run every Tuesday & Thursday from 7 – 8:30pm leading up to team camp. This will be an open-play format mixed with some technical and fitness aspects. Attendance is encouraged, but not mandatory. Players unable to attend should invest personal time running and training in preparation for tryouts. Contact Coach Vreeland for programs. Boys Preseason Soccer Camp combines with Mt. View High School will be held from July 20th – 22nd, 6-8pm at BK. Registration and payment need to be sent to Coach Vreeland. Additional fitness programs: BK Summer Conditioning Class will begin June 14th and runs through July. More info can be found online or through Coach Vreeland. Tryouts begin on Monday, August 9th, 7:30 – 9am, 3:45 – 5:15pm. The final rosters will be announced the evening of Wednesday, August 12th. Team practices begin Thursday, August 13th. The 17th Annual Jimmy Driscoll Fun Run is taking place at Bishop Kelly on Saturday, August 28th. This is a fun way to encourage movement and exercise for your whole family AND it supports our Cross Country program at the same time.
Each Bishop Kelly Athlete must complete a Participation Permission Form each school year. Additionally, BK Athletes must have a Sports Physical each school year.
Just for Seniors
If you would like to purchase a Senior Dedication Ad that goes in the yearbook, please see THIS FLIER from TheYearbookCompany.com. This is completely optional, but many seniors look forward to the nice personal notes from their family. The price goes up the longer you wait to order one. The final deadline is usually in January, and reminders will go out via BK Alive as it nears the deadline. However, you can order early!
Parker Portraits will be at Bishop Kelly on October 13, 2021 from 8:00 AM -12:00 PM to take senior tux/drape photos if you are not using your own photographer. The cost is $10 for the sitting. This is a day with no scheduled classes, so students will need to sign up on a Google Form. The link will be sent out starting in September and students must sign up by October 1st. Time slots will be given to students in advance, and they will be determined by the order in which people are signed up.
A few weeks after the sitting, you will receive a proof sheet with two pose options to choose from. If you don’t like either photo, you can certainly use your own photographer. The only additional cost is if you decide to order photos. Parker Portraits will submit the picture directly to Bishop Kelly.
If you are using your own, independent photographer, Senior tux/drape pictures need to be submitted to the yearbook staff by NOVEMBER 30th. Please give photographers THIS SPECIFICATION SHEET. It contains the below information about size requirements and how pictures should be submitted.
Overall size to be printed in the book: 2 ½ W x 3 ½ H
Head size: 1 ½ H
Males: Black Tux w/ bow tie (No earrings/beards)
Females: Black Drape (PLEASE BE CERTAIN THAT DRAPE SHOWS IN THE PICTURE)
*The head must be 1 ½ inches high. This is to insure uniformity of face sizes on the portrait pages.
* Individuals must be facing-forward (no side-leaning over the shoulder photos)
No other digital photos, photocopies, scanned photos or Polaroid photos will be accepted.
Photos Submission Requirements:
- Please submit photos through Email (send to email@example.com) and make sure the image is at least 300 dpi
- Please save and send the picture with the student’s last name, first name format (Smith, Susie or Smith_Susie) and make sure it is a JPEG file.
- Please submit the photo in COLOR. We will change the photo to black and white.
*Photos must be submitted no later than the last day of November. If a photo is submitted late or does not conform to the requested specifications, the senior’s picture might not be included in the yearbook. Deadlines for completion of pages must be met with the publisher.
* No news is good news–if the yearbook staff is missing a student’s photo, we will contact you. Please do not ask for photo confirmation.

Senior quotes need to be submitted by November 30th. Seniors will be submitting their quotes electronically through a Google Form, which will be sent to them in September. They will be reminded of this after school starts this fall.
