Monday, August 8th – Freshman Academy for Incoming Freshmen with last names beginning with A-I, 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM.

- School/Yearbook Photos will be taken at Freshman Academy
- All incoming Freshmen bring your fully charged laptop to Freshman Academy.
- Students must be in BK Dress Code for Freshman Academy
- Freshman Parents, please plan to attend Mass and Parent Orientation from 8:00-10:00 AM on the same day that your student attends Freshman Academy.
- Please arrive no later than 8:00 AM on your scheduled day. Students will report to the cafeteria, Parents will report to the Carley Athletic Center (Behind the main school building.) We will begin promptly at 8:15 AM.
Wednesday, August 10th – New Student Academy for ALL NEW BK Students in the 10th – 12th grades, 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM

- School/Yearbook Photos will be taken on Orientation Day for all returning BK students, new students in Grades 10-12, and any students who were unable to attend Freshman Academy.

Bishop Kelly’s dress code is intended to encourage modesty, cleanliness, neatness, and pride in one’s appearance and school community. It is our belief that students should respect each other for who they are, not for what they wear.
Mass Dress Code
Days of All School Liturgies and other special occasions are designated dress-up days. These are school days where a more formal appearance is expected of students out of respect for the special purpose of the day. Sweatshirts are not to be worn. All students must stay in Mass Dress for the entire school day.
- Oxford (button down), collared shirt (long or short sleeved) with the BK Crest; shirts must be tucked in.
- Dress Slacks or Khaki/Dockers-style pants (No denim) black or khaki colored only.
- Sweater vest, cardigan, or blazer with the BK Crest may be worn over the oxford
- A white oxford (button down) collared shirt (long or short sleeved) with the BK Crest. Shirts must be tucked in.
- Dress Slacks or Khaki pants (No denim.) black or khaki colored only, OR
- Maxi /Midi (past the knee) skirt, black or khaki colored only.

Bishop Kelly offers bus transportation to students who live in the Eagle, Nampa, and Meridian areas of the Treasure Valley.

Please note: Times and routes are subject to change. Please check back prior to the first day of school in August.
- Bishop Kelly Students are renting their lockers from Bishop Kelly High School for the current school year.
- Students are responsible for everything in or on their lockers, and will be held accountable.
- Students should keep their locker LOCKED at all times.
- At the end of each semester, lockers are to be emptied, cleaned , and wiped down.
- DO NOT leave food in the lockers over school breaks!
- Cleaning products will be provided during locker clean out times throughout the year.
- No garbage, food, posters, personal belongings, stickers, or graffiti should be left in or on your locker at the end of the school year.
- If there is an issue with a locker (vandalism, damage, etc.), please let the Attendance Office know immediately so it can be taken care of appropriately.
- At the end of the school year, students will be charged:
- $25 for not cleaning out their locker completely (items in or on locker / dirty locker)
- $15 for a missing lock

Over the next few weeks I will be contacting many of you to request either new, or updated information regarding health care concerns and individual plans for students with medical conditions which may affect them at school. This includes food or insect allergies, diabetes, etc. It is important that I have this information, as we strive to provide the safest environment possible for your student.
In addition, if your student will be taking medication at school, please fill out this Authorization for Medication Administration and return it to school.

—Students who become ill or injured during the school day must go to the Nurse’s Office. If it is during class time, the student must inform the teacher and request a pass to see the School Nurse. The nurse will determine whether the student must go home due to illness. If it is decided that the student should go home, the nurse will contact the parent/guardian. It will be established at that time how the student will be transported home. Students are not to contact parents/guardians via phone call or text before they have seen the nurse. If the student will be going home, they will get their belongings and then the student must go to the Attendance Office to sign out.
- All New Freshmen will have their school photos taken at their Freshman Academy days. Any Freshmen who are unable to attend Freshman Academy will have their photos taken on Orientation Day, August 15th.
- All returning students, and new students in grades 10-12 will have their school photos taken on Orientation Day, August 15th.

Freshmen and New Student Parents – in order to set up your My Payments Plus Account, you will need your student’s Student ID Number. Your student will be given this number at New Student Academy. Student ID Numbers can also be found in Infinite Campus or by calling the Front Office: 208-375-6010
Your student will have seven classes each semester, and each class may have specific expectations for supplies needed. Other than a laptop computer and basic supplies, such as three ring binders, loose leaf paper, pens, and pencils, it is suggested that you wait until after your child receives the course syllabus during the first week of school to purchase more specific school supplies. Academic Information for Fall 2022
Bishop Kelly High School is a 1:1 technology school, meaning each student at Bishop Kelly has their own personal electronic device. There are many options to choose from, however, there are certain minimum requirements that will allow enrollment in all classes and the best possible education experience. Please read this list of technology requirements before your purchase a device for your student.
Financial assistance is available to assist families who need help purchasing a device for their student. Please fill out this Electronic Device Assistance Application and return it to the Bishop Kelly Business Office.
Bishop Kelly uses a web based classroom management system that parents and students can access to check schedules and grades called Infinite Campus.
RETURNING STUDENTS – you can sign in to Infinite Campus here, with your BK Google Account. Schedules will be posted the week of August 8th.
NEW STUDENTS – you will receive access to Infinite Campus at New Student Academy in August.
PARENTS – New BK Parents will receive an access letter to Infinite Campus in August.
If you are new to BK or have a new computer, you must follow the instructions below to get your computer ready to access the BK Network. Please be sure your student performs this task before they get to BK with a new device. All steps can be completed at home at the website http://faculty.bk.org They are different based on what type of device your student has.
Bishop Kelly Activities
Getting involved at BK is one of the best ways to make sure that you have a positive and memorable high school experience. A complete list of BK Clubs, Teams, and Co-Curricular activities along with contact information for Moderators/Coaches/Instructors can be found here.
Tryouts for the 2022 – 2023 Cheer Team were held in the Spring and our team has been practicing all summer.
Cheer practice dates/times for the start of school:
August 8th – Practice 6:30-8:00 am – Upper Carley
August 9th – Practice 6:30-8:00 am – Upper Carley
August 10th – Practice 6:30-8:00 am – Upper Carley
Summer base training will run from 8:00 – 10:00am, Monday through Thursday, beginning Monday, June 20th. The schedule for practice sites will be posted on the Cross Country Team page at www.bk.org and Coach Shanahan will send them via email to parents, as well.
The official first day of practice is Monday August 8th at 9am on the BK Track. We will have a parent/athlete dinner meeting one the evening prior to the Jimmy Driscoll Invitational, Friday August 26th at 6pm in the Cafeteria. The first home meet will be the Jimmy Driscoll Meet on Saturday, August 27th, 2022. Cross Country Camp at Pilgrim Cove in McCall will be on August 19th – 21st. Aug 11 – Girls golf tryouts, 8.30-3pm at Lakeview GC, Meridian
Aug 12 – Girls golf tryouts, 10.30-5pm at Lakeview GC, Meridian
Tryouts will be August 11th and 12th at Lakeview Golf Club, Meridian (18 holes each day). On the 11th we will tee off between 8:00AM-9:00AM. On the 12th we will tee off between 12:03-12:57PM. Anyone interested in trying out please send an email to Todd Loveland at email@example.com

Tryouts will start Monday, August 8th from 7:00 – 8:00 AM for Freshmen, 8:00 – 9:00 AM for Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors. Everyone will practice together again from 3:15-4:45 PM. The final rosters will be announced the evening of Wednesday, August 10th. Team practices begin Thursday, August 11th. There will be a varsity team retreat in McCall August 12th-14th. Tryouts will be held at Borah Pool beginning August 8th – 12th from 8:00 – 10:00am. Freshman are excused for freshman academy Aug 8th & 9th. Swimmers MUST attend tryouts to be considered for the swim team. We have a JV and Varsity team for both boys and girls. Swimmers must attend 10 school practices prior to our first meet on August 30th. Water polo sign up and registration forms will be available on our BK Athletics page beginning August 2022. Tryouts and practice begins the week of November 8th.
Mandatory tryouts will be August 8th & 9th. Double Day practices will start on August 10th and continue until school begins. Please leave these days open, as this is when volleyball season begins and athletes are expected to be at all practices. GO KNIGHTS!!!! Each Bishop Kelly Athlete must complete a Participation Permission Form each school year. Additionally, BK Athletes must have a Sports Physical each school year.

The Annual Jimmy Driscoll Fun Run is taking place at Bishop Kelly on Saturday, August 27th. This is a fun way to encourage movement and exercise for your whole family AND it supports our Cross Country program at the same time.
Just for Seniors
If you would like to purchase a Senior Dedication Ad that goes in the yearbook, please see THIS FLIER from TheYearbookCompany.com. This is completely optional, but many seniors look forward to the nice personal notes from their family. The price goes up the longer you wait to order one. The final deadline is usually in January, and reminders will go out via BK Alive as it nears the deadline. However, you can order early!
Starting this next year, the senior photo in the yearbook will be students wearing the BK graduation gown. All seniors will be individually photographed at Bishop Kelly by Parker Portraits on October 12, 2022 from 8:00am-1:00pm. The gowns will be provided by BK for the picture. This is a day with no scheduled classes, so students will need to sign up on a Google Form. The form link will be sent out starting in September, and students must sign up by October 3rd. Time slots will be given to students in advance, and they will be determined by the order in which people are signed up. There is no cost to the families for these photos. The only cost will be if you choose to order prints. Parker Portraits will submit the picture directly to Bishop Kelly. If for some reason your student can’t attend this day, there will be an additional makeup day offered in November. More details to come on that date.
Parker Portraits will still offer parents the option for a traditional tux/drape photo if you would like one, but that will not be the photograph used in the yearbook. You will just need to indicate on the same Google form if you would like this picture, and the cost for a tux/drape photo is a $15 sitting fee. Please note that this additional tux / great picture option is only available during the October date. When Parker Portraits comes to the school for the makeup day in November, the tux/drape picture won’t be available.
A few weeks after the sitting, you will receive information with a link to access the proofs. If you had a tux/drape photo taken, you will also be able to view those, and can choose to order those photos at that time. The only additional cost is if you decide to order photos.
Senior quotes need to be submitted by November 30th. Seniors will be submitting their quotes electronically through a Google Form, which will be sent to them in September. They will be reminded of this after school starts this fall.
