The course incorporates the principles of design and art into digital photography. Students will learn how digital cameras work, the history of photography, how to incorporate various design elements into their photographs, and how to manipulate technical settings of the camera. Students will also learn basic Photoshop editing basics. Students will leave the course with a portfolio of work created over the course of the semester that demonstrates their understanding. A second semester may be taken where students will explore more advanced techniques in photography and in Photoshop.
