Assistant Track and Field Throws Coach
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced assistant track and field coach for the throws (shot put/discus) events. We would like a candidate who has either participated in the throws or who has coached the throws events before. We expect prospective coaches to have a comprehensive grasp on long-term planning for the entire season all the way down to individual plans for throwers based on the variables presented. A solid knowledge of strength training, overall conditioning and general health should be infused into that planning. Working well with the head coach and other assistants with scheduling multi-event athletes is a must. Knowing how to coach both rotational and linear techniques in the shot put would be a plus. Practices are from 3:30 to 6:00pm daily and there is a minimum of one track and field meet per week. Practice will begin on Friday, February 22nd through Saturday, May 18th. This is a paid position. Contact Head Track & Field Coach Jeff Carpenter at email@example.com if interested. Go Knights!
