What We Do

Sideline Cheer

Fall

  • JV and Varsity cheers at all home football games.
  • Varsity travels with the football team to all away games.

Winter

  • JV and Varsity cheers at all home Girls and Boys basketball games.
  • Varsity will travel to any district and state games.
Performances

The cheer team performs at various events such as Back To School BBQ, Pep Assemblies, most football half-times, and select half-times during basketball.

Competitions

BK Cheer is a competitive cheer squad.  Competition season is December – February.

During the 2023-24 Season, BK Cheer took home the following:

  • TVCI Grand Champions
  • 1st Place: All-Girl Show at Districts
  • 1st Place: Pom at Districts
  • 1st Place: All-Girl Show at TVCI
  • 1st Place: Sideline at TVCI
  • 2nd Place: Pom at TVCI
  • 2nd Place: Sideline at Districts
  • 3rd Place: Pom at Two: Three-O
  • Placed in the Top 10 at the State Cheer Championship

What to Expect

Practices and Summer Camp
  • The team practices three times a week from June – February.
  • During the school year, we will practice on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 3:30 pm – 5:30 pm.
  • Summer practice will start on June 4th.  Practices will be on the same days as during the school year but in the mornings.  Typically, 7:30 am – 9:30 am.
  • Summer Camp is mandatory!  We are attending a UCA Stunt Camp at the Great Wolf Lodge in Washington June 27 – 30.
Games
  • In the fall, we will cheer for football almost every Friday night and one or two Saturdays.
  • In the winter, plan on cheering at 1 to 2 games a week.  During districts and state, Varsity may have a game 3 to 4 nights/days in a row.
Competitions
  • We will compete at 4 to 5 competitions a year plus the State Championship if we qualify at districts.
  • Most competitions are local but, we may travel to Eastern Idaho for one.
Cost of Cheer
  • Expect the cost to participate in cheer to be around $1,500 to $1,800 for the year.
  • This includes the cost of camp, transportation to camp, practice wear, two uniforms (Home and Away), backpack, shoes, poms, warm-ups, and two “Game Day” shirts.
  • Payments can be made.  Please work with the Head Coach, Amy Eisele, to set up a payment plan.
  • If you need financial assistance to help pay for the cost of cheer, some aid is available.  Please reach out to Amy Eisele for more details.
  • The exact cost will be emailed shortly after tryouts.  The first half of the amount or first installment (if on a payment plan) will be due June 4th.

Tryout  Information

Dates and Time

All clinics and tryouts will take place in the Upper Gym of the Carley.

Tryout Requirements

All required paperwork must be completed and turned in before tryouts 

Candidates will tryout in groups and perform the following:

  • Sideline Cheer (taught during the clinic)
  • Dance (taught during the clinic)
  • Single toe touch and double jump of choice
  • Stunt sequence based on ability
  • Optional tumbling (standing and/or running pass)
