Engineering Academy
The Engineering Academy at Bishop Kelly High School is a program option open to students interested in pursuing engineering as an academic and career goal. The academy is designed to fit within Bishop Kelly’s existing culture of excellence and is informed by the needs of the broader STEM community.
Our Students Will:
- Develop skills and attitudes necessary for success in college and the 21st century, including constant and active learning, effective communication, and problem solving.
- Cultivate higher-level critical and creative thinking skills through the design and iteration process.
- Gain a heightened awareness of needs for technology solutions in our community (adaptive technology for persons with disabilities, for example).
- Successfully complete a research-based capstone project that follows the engineering design process from inception to fruition. This can be accomplished through participation in national design competitions, independent projects, or other opportunities approved by an advisor.
