Global Citizenship Academy

The Academy for Global Citizenship at Bishop Kelly High School is a program option open to all students interested in learning more about the world and their responsibilities within a global community.  The AGC is designed to fit within Bishop Kelly’s existing culture and tradition of excellence and is informed by education within the Humanities.

Our Students Will:

• Develop skills and attitudes necessary for success in college and the 21st century, including constant and active learning, effective communication, and problem solving.
• Cultivate higher-level critical and creative thinking skills by making connections between and among a variety of types of sources.
• Gain a heightened awareness of current issues facing our global community and will develop a global perspective (which includes a foundation of knowledge about global conditions and events, empathy/concern for the condition of others, and recognition of their power to effect positive change.
• Successfully complete a research-based capstone project from the Humanities that reflects students’ knowledge of global citizenship.
