Health Professional Academy

The Health Professionals Academy (HPA) at Bishop Kelly High School is a program option open to all students interested in learning more about the health professions and the multitude of career opportunities within. This could include sports medicine, nursing, physical therapy, dentistry, or any other area of medicine as an academic and career goal.  The HPA is designed to fit within Bishop Kelly’s existing culture and tradition of excellence and is informed by education within the Science Department and support from various medical professionals in the field.

Our Students Will:

• Develop skills and attitudes necessary for success in college and the 21st century, including constant and active learning, effective communication, and problem solving.
• Cultivate higher-level critical and creative thinking skills by making connections between content and real-world application.
• Provide hands-on opportunities of various medical practices and protocols through exposure to rigorous coursework and research or internship opportunities.
• Gain a heightened awareness of health needs and solutions in our community and the job opportunities within.
